Derek Trucks Interviewed by Marc Maron

Yesterday, during my commute (to work and back), I was listening to this interview with Derek Trucks (by Marc Maron on his wonderful WFT podcast). For those of you who know and love Derek, you’re going to flip over his stories of how he got to where he is. Especially jaw dropping are his honest, and often humorous, observations about Eric Clapton, John Lee Hooker, Gregg Allman, and others.

I’ve dropped you right into the  beginning of the interview (@17:15). If you want to hear all of Marc’s banter beforehand, click here for the whole video)

Check out the description from WTF pod…

“A lot of former child stars have been in the garage, but Derek Trucks wasn’t so much a child star as he was a prodigy. At the age of nine, Derek was a guitar wizard. He talks with Marc about avoiding the pitfall of becoming a novelty act and evolving into a versatile practitioner and appreciator of music, with help from several notable mentors along the way.”
